I would guess deep. near or inside jetties. Is blue water coming in? Sometimes that happens during dog days. Flat and blue gives me a chance to venture into the gulf just a bit.

Some of it depends on where you are.

We limited on reds in 2 feet of water down in the Laguna Madre last weeekend. Have to get on them early though as they move around a lot to deeper water when the sun comes up.

The nights have also been quite good for the reds in the shallows as they feed.
