It depends on how/where you are fishing for them. If it's deep, I'll go with a Mepps or slab. Chasing surface schools/white birds, a flat edge spoon works as good as anything I've tried. With or without a bucktail. In the shallows and creeks, I prefer a out of production lure that's gotten extremely hard to come by.

I guess Im the only one who used Rat L Traps or Hot Spot in a shad color? Picks up an occasional largemouth too while theyre in a schooling mood

I prefer a Shark for deep, Until last year a Popping cork and jig for surface but then discovered a 3.5 inch Terminator Whopper Plopper

Little George has caught more sandies for me than any other lure. It's heavy,very easy to cast a mile, and has a built in spinner. It's a 'two-fer'. You can bounce it like a slab when u need to and buzz the top when they are pushing shad.
