Just a question for more experienced anglers. What do you do when you catching nothing but undersize trout in several different areas in the summer months? I just kept trying different strategies but nothing held trout over 15" and that was with live croaker. Rocks=dinks, grass edge=dinks, deeper water=dinks, shallow water=dinks....LOL get the point just picking brains.....

Are you fishing the same general area? Maybe move to a drastically further/different spot.

Trout tend to school together according to size. In my experience, all the fish you will catch in a particular area are within a few inches of the same length. I've never been on a school where I caught dink, dink, dink, LUNKER.

Saw some nice Trout eating in the 2nd gut. Couldn't get them to bite though.

Try fishing fast and aggressively with paddletails and jerkbaits. Can't go wrong with a topwater either.
I'm not a chick.

A six pound trout will scarf down a 14" trout in a heartbeat. Go big.

Thank you for the reply yes I am considering the theory that trout generally hang around the same size trout.

I have not tried a topwater yet this summer since where I am fishing is always blowing at least 13 MPH.
