Go to the pier, they don't look to kindly on beach fishing.

I'm going in October. My plan to to fish from the beach after dark when it is much less crowded. YouTube "Ghost Shrimp Sucker". You can build one for $20 and all the parts can be bought at Lowe's. The pier is excellent as well as the pass.
