Probably a loaded question, but is there a ramp on grapevine better than others if I want avoid most of the pleasure boaters. I want to fish Sunday from 6 to 11ish. Putting in wont be a problem but getting out at 11 I would like to avoid as much as I can.

If you look at the parks and wildlife website map it will show you some ramps on the south side that basically launch onto the main lake = early dove loop, meadowmere and Katy's woods are fine out by 11 hard to say - I always use katy's woods and most days its fine.
I think on the south side maybe sandbass point would be the best bet - never seems to be very crowded from the looks of the parking lot.

Whatever you do look around for a PAY booth. I went out to grapevine last weekend. First time there, drove to a couple of ramps. The first one had a sign that said "FEE AREA". I went to another ramp off of Dove and didn't see a pay booth. Ended the day with a ticket. WHAT A JOKE! They put the booth 10 yards off of the entrance, it's not lighted so you can't see it in the dark and then they come around later to give you a parking ticket. Has this happened to anyone else?

I buy an annual ramp pass from grapevine good for many of the south side ramps, theirs is nice because it is good for a year from the date of purchase and covers a lot of ramps....and since I am a senior I get the lower resident rate even though I am not a resident. I agree sand bass point would probably be your best bet.

Best bet for least amount of traffic during your time frame will be Murrell Ramp, north side. It's free. There's not a ramp on the lake that is ideal when taking out at 11am on the weekends....as JayC mentioned, Twin Coves would prolly be less crowded, but it costs to get in the park and kinda hard to find if you don't know the area....off of Wichita Trail.

Yes I have received a ticket. Never saw the pay station first time at Dove Loop. Daily access is $5. The ticket was $90.

McPhereson Slough. You will get your feet wet launching solo, its a flat ramp but one of the least known to the pleasure boaters.

Sand bass point gets my vote Sand bass point gets my vote Mcphereson ramp usually is not too bad but the park is usually crowded on the weekends. I have been a few times that I could not even get through the park to the ramp.

All the grapevine city ramps are $5 to launch, so I buy a pass. I mostly use McPherson slough or meadowmere. All the ramps have a pay box close by. Dove loop seems busier so I usually go to the other 2. Seems like more pleasure boaters and jet skis running full speed through the no wake zone at meadowmere. There are always people fishing off the dock and people swimming on the ramp at McPherson slough. Funny thing, night before last pulled up to courtesy dock and 2 people fishing. They never moved, As we pulled up to unload, I Drop my passenger off, push away and head out. As the boat turned I hear the clink, clink, clink of their rod being dragged across the dock. HA HA. I never looked back to see if they caught it in time. Figured maybe they will realize they shouldnt be there.
