I do very well with the 4" black w/ chartreuse tail by BassPro. I'll catch things on that worm when nothing else it biting.

ZOOM ol monster Junebug red for low light/night fishing, Watermelon magic and Green pumpkin magic for brighter days.
I rig these for slow fall. 1/8 tungsten, 4/0 Owner straight shank XXX hook, 5MM glass rattle in the arse of the worm.

OP, all you need is a Texas rigged watermelon red baby brush hog, I can promise you you'll catch just as many as the next guy with the fancy stuff

Some of my favorites are 10" power worms in Blue Fleck and Red Shad, Zoom trick worms in red bug and watermelon red. On a dropshot I like finesse worms in tomato or redbug shad. I've also started using more various green pumpkin colors as well. I do exactly this and also use 7 inch power worms and Zoom ole monster worms for texas rigging. I drop shot Zoom finesse worms as well as Zoom trick worms.
