So just recently I had a northern pike steal my Sammy (Oneida lake). Im curious to whether or not I should stick with the Sammy or if there is a better bait out there. I went to purchase another Sammy and noticed my color no longer available for purchase. It lasted me a long time Fishing in Texas. One day in New York and its gone. Thoughts?

When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip!

Bone. Im not sure if theres ever been a Sammy jr or if I made that up in my head. It wasnt the large Sammy.

What are the shorter fatter spooks? I really like them, but I havent used them in a year or two.

I love a spook but to me they seem to have a bad hook up ratio, and hard to keep them from throwing it once hooked. I like a Shower Blow, nothing gets loose from it, including your fingers!

I'll agree, nothing like a shower blow...

I caught a lot of Northerns when I was stationed in ND. After losing several nice cranks to them while bass fishing I started using a 3" steel lead. They are cheap and should help you from losing other baits.
