7 ft Med-Hvy baitcasting rod... It will cover a wide range of things. Certainly not perfect for everything, but you can make do.

Falcon Bucoo Lizard Dragger. It's 7' Hvy action and is a great all around rod. I've used it for a ton of different techniques and they all feel right with this rod. Spinnerbait, frog, shakey head, finesse/football jig, big worm, weightless senko, you name it. And it's only around $100-$120 depending on where you shop

One wonders why some people select rods that don't hold up for more the 2-3 years as rods they want to use for the rest of their lives. All due respect for our 90+ y/o patrons.

Dobyns 734 as well. Wish I had a few more of them. Hard to argue! Absolutely my best "all around" rod I've owned. Great sensitivity and balance for soft plastics but still great for many other applications: jigs, buzz baits, spinner baits, medium cranks..... I have several of the Champion series but for those needing a tighter budget the Fury line leaves little to be desired!

Great all-around rod. You can do anything with this one, my choice as well. Yup

Me too but mine would be the Loomis MBR 844 in IMX. I snap GLX's like they're twigs and have never bought an NRX for the same reason. I've broken three brand new GLX's on hooksets.
