I love to fish for reds but getting to the coast with the boat is such a beating. I heard about TCR the other day and was curious what it's all about. I've got a 19' VIP Bay Stealth. Is there a boat ramp down there for a boat that size? Is the red fishing as good as I hear? Are there any campsites or places to park an RV? Any help and/or advice would be much appreciated.

Enter the tournament coming up--it will be alot of fun and you can meet others that like fishing for freshwater reds. Good opportunity to learn alot during and after the tournament.

I'd really love to but I've already committed to playing in a golf tournament in Amarillo the weekend of the 19th. If it wasn't a church scholarship fundraiser I would bow out and go fishing.

No electrical hook-ups but the boat ramp parking areas are paved. No problem getting your boat in - seen bigger than yours on the water there.

I went there two weeks ago and caught four 24" reds from the bank. There was a good south wind so we were using baloons to send perch out to 20' of water. Camping is primitive. The county will grade the gravel roads and bring out inmates to pick up and burn the trash. The boat ramp is in great shape.
