Helix 12 Chirp SI Sonar GPS G2N

and

Helix 9 Chirp Mega DI GPS G2N

Where can I get the best price? I have done some searching and have found the 12 for $2400 and the 9 for $1000.

Can I do better?

Ya know, you can save 1400 bones just by going down to the 10" vs. the 12". 2"'s ain't worth $1400 to me.....unless someone else is paying :-).

Or consider running two 9�s or 10�s instead of split screening the larger 12.

Shut up and Fish in Lewisville, plus the service after the sale is great too. They just don't instal it, they teach you how to use it.

FYI, if you compare prices at Humminbird Factory Outlet store be aware Humminbird does not have a factory outlet store and does not offer them special prices. If you see the same exact product at a cheaper price make sure you are comparing apples to apples. Year models and transducers can make a big difference. As mentioned by others on here, Shut Up and Fish is local, honest and very knowledgeable about all electronics and if you're not familiar with what you're buying you WILL need his expertise.

It's not a humminbird factory outlet, it's just a factory outlet. And yes, you do need to be careful you are comparing apples to apples. Make sure you get G2N versions. David at shutup put my last Helix on their and boy am I glad I didn't attempt the wiring. He had to do all kinds of things to get the wiring from the front to the back of the boat. He has the necessary connectors onsite as well. He'll also give you advice on whether to put a DI or SI up front. For my level of fishing, I put a DI up front as I already had an SI at the drivers seat. I have heard some guys fish in SI mode up front all the time, but to me moving the trolling motor around a lot would make that really hard.

I would not buy a 9, the one inch isnt the only difference, pixels etc. A 9 has a much much worse picture vs a 10 or 12.... I bought a 9 because the sales guy in bps said they were the same pixels resolution etc.

I didn't get any prices that were $1400.00 less than that on a Helix 10 Mega SI but I did get some that were $900.00 or so cheaper.

I was considering a 10 and a 12 but think I might just put 2 10's on mine in the future with one of them coming soon.

Good information, I have been having that same debate. I almost purchased the 9 inch but now I know about he pixels and picture quality

Another vote for Davis and "Shut Up and Fish". He put a Solix 12 on my dash and a Helix 9 on the trolling motor last December. Working great. Next step an Ultrex trolling motor.
