Dobyns DX 764 SF - Thats right a spinning rod! With braid and a changeable fluorocarbon leader you can throw ANY baits on this rod. From drop shot to Alabama Rig to any size crankbait, swimbait, or topwater.

Thats funny. No just like picking people brain. I like to hear from actual fisherman who have been around a while who do go for every gimmick or marketing ploy.

No lol. Research for myself on what high end rod I want to buy next. I dont have the same money as a lot of other people so I am hoping to hop up to the high end world and see what its like. I consistently see G Loomis , Dobyns, and St Croix at the top of the list and I am trying g to narrow it down even more.

Whatever brand you like.. a Drop Shot rod. I've owned a Skeet Reese DS rod for about 15 years now and have caught my biggest fish on it. Something around 7' medium with a fast tip.. I like spinning for this app but it doesn't have to be.

The thought of only having one rod makes me sad but if I had to it would be a Falcon Cara 7 MH.

Ugly stick. If I have one rod the rest of my life I don’t want it to break! Probably the smartest choice. However, I would choose a Shakespeare Ugly Stik Inshore Select, 7', medium power. I don't use them now but I have in the past with great results. I used to fish both fresh and saltwater with them. Caught everything from bull reds to buck bass.
