I blew out of work a couple hours early, and got on the lake about 4:30P. Good decision!! Saw a few birds working a wind-blown shoreline right after launch, and the fish were there too. Got 25 fish by about 6:00P, all in water 2-6 ft deep that had scattered flooded weeds and sticks. Mix of average size sandies and undersized hybrids, but one huge sandy and one hybrid just short at 17". Caught em on chrome/blue rattle trap, chartreuse Humdinger, but most on 3" Tsunami swim bait in chartreuese/black back. Between 6:00P and 7:30P tried a few other similar wind-blown shorelines, and got about 10 more, mainly on rattle traps and again all shallow. Returned to the original wind-blown shoreline on the way back in and got about 15 more, almost all on the swim bait in 3 ft of water. Bank fishermen in the area were catching fish as well.

We caught a ton of the small hybrids like that yesterday---Benbrook should be awsome the next couple of years if those hybrids put on some size!

I was out on BB the evening before. Really nice evening. Birds were flying but no worky. No fish.
That's Benbrook!

Same here 400 I fished a few mid-lake humps and caught a good number of hybrids and assorted fish. I then picked up P220 and we got into them on the west shore line with sportaic but constant action. P220 caught a nice gaspergou on a slab pretty fellow. Mine all came to a small Bomber slab and P220 was hammering them on his special slab. Good day to be out on the lake I think I will head out in the morning again.

I got out at about 5pm from Longhorn sorry I missed you.

Jason, I agree that the small hybrids are plentiful and given some time they will be mean! EB, sorry they didn't co-operate on your outing. I had similar "luck" my previous outing. BB indeed! XYZ - I didn't get around much of the lake tonight since I found em early, but glad you and P220 did wwell.

Sounds odd, but they reminded me a little of the black bass tonight. Occaisional surface boils would produce fish, but many came by ticking the rattle trap or swim bait off the top of the sticks, ripping it loose and letting it fall. And then they would take you down into the sticks - - 6 lb line is still a blast though.

Thanks Launcher400...we fished just like you described and in the same areas. Right in the weeds smile smile

Taking some neighborhood kids out Sunday evening...hope that pattern holds, otherwise we will slab a few humps.

We had over 90 fish in 2 hours - mixture of junior hybrids and a lot of 12+ inch white bass, not too many small ones. It was just fun fishing so they all went back in the lake.
