Taking my downriggers out for their trial run next weekend and I'm just curious in what baits I should troll. Planning on running the strike kind titanium A rigs and some buck tails. Sure would appreciate some pointers. (Side note) I'm not participating in the tourney that weekend.

I have never fished PK or for stripers but I have excellent luck trolling #15-#17 pet spoons for hybrids. I made a double up rig that makes it possible to catch two fish on each of my rods so its not uncommon to catch four hybrids at once!! For downrigging in general I like to look for fish ontop of structure as those fish are much more active and likely to chase down artificial bait. Hope those few pointers help!

You might need several of those strike kings rigs. The striper will twist and tear them up in short order. I use captain Macks rigs and last week one was destroyed on its first trip. Jigs and pet spoons will work also.

If you haven't fished PK much you should go over the area you are fishing first and make sure you are not pulling your rig into trees. PK is a flooded cedar forest and you'll lose a lot of gear if you are not careful. Might need a pair of dikes to cut your cable too, as those old cedars are very tough.
All that said stripers are scattered everywhere down lake and I bet you limit out if you can keep from being hung up.
John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.

I only use the 15 and 17 pet spoons now. They do very well.

Appreciate the tip. I've been fishing PK for 2 years now but my fishing buddy grew up on that lake and knows it well.
