My boat is set up for Lowrance units right now. Mainly due to my trolling motor being an Xi5. Having said that I really would like to use Humminbird for its mapping features. Then again I feel like it would bug the tar out of me trying to get waypoints points to line up while on the trolling motor.
What do yall think?

I feel your pain.. I have 'Birds and a MG trolling motor now and want to upgrade the TM to the Xi5. I think that I will still use the humminbird transducer bracketed to the TM shaft and not use the unit in the Xi5.. if that will work. Not sure at this point.

Bill, why not change to the Terrova. Accuracy wise, both units now are about equal in spot lock.
RJF, dont believe you will get any waypoints except what you save and change format on the computer later. I like the lakemaster maps but not enough to buy a HB for it just for that feature if I had Lowrance units with the exception being if my long term goal was to completely change brands over time.

It's not to bad in my opinion. I moved my original bow HDS-9 G3 to the console next to the original HDS for a dual setup. Have a Helix 12/360 upfront only now. I mark all waypoints with the HDS units with SI while idling about and then convert them to GPX and upload them on the Helix once I get off the water. The Helix then has the same points for the next trip.
For same day marking when I find something interesting while on the TM using the Helix I'll save it on the Helix and then walk to the console and save to the HDS. By then I can see the structure on both brands.
