Making a trip to Cedar Creek Reservoir Wednesday-Friday this week. Will most likely be searching for brush on the main lake but would also like to shoot some docks which I am pretty new to. What depth of water should I be looking for? It's a big lake and would like to narrow my search down some! Staying on the East side of the main lake in Carolynn Estates. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Deepest docks you can find. I would say roughly 8 ft at the shallowest.

Find ones with the most shade, deeper the better usually. I have found that on cedar creek you will find fish on 1 out of 30 docks if the conditions are right, meaning the docks back in the residential coves and channels are usually less productive. But once you find the one you could catch a limit quickly.
A five spot for a shot and a beer? And you wonder how we wound up here.

Hit a couple very good docks to start the trip off this morning, in an attempt to please my customers. Caught 2 fish in an hour and a half. Pulled off docks and went to brush... two hours later we had 50

Back from our trip to Cedar Creek and as always I did not fish as much as I was hoping to. Caught lots of perch and channel cats from the rental house dock which kept the kids happy. The only crappie I caught were on bridge pilings and they were all throw backs. Could not get a crappie bite on some of the lighted docks I fished. This lake is huge and I only saw about 1/8 of it while out tubing and sight seeing.
I will definitely be making another trip here next summer. Great lake. Thanks for the info everyone!
