Been a while since I�ve posted but I need some help and hoping someone can give me some ideas. My 2010 f150 ac system has a bug and I can�t find the issue. Problem is it will not cool below 60 degrees once it gets hot outside. I have changed the evaporator core due to being clogged with dirt and not much air flow going through. I changed the expansion valve too. I changed the condenser last month due to the power steering cooler leaking. This morning I put a new compressor cause the pressure was jumping around erratic on low side. So as you can see the entire system is pretty much new except for the heater box, actuators, and lines. I�m the morning when it�s cooler it will get down to 45 or so. But once it get above 90 outside it�s done. At 70 mph it�s 65 out the vents. Sitting in traffic it gets hotter. The low side pressures are 35-45 and high side pressure is 200-250. The cooling fans are working and do step up in speed when conditions are correct. I have ran out of ideas except for replacing the box. But at 400$ I�m just not sure at this point.

Have you checked the vacuum lines under the hood?

It does not have any vacuum lines for the ac system. It�s all electronic.

The 2005 F-150 I had would do that if the A/C was set to draw in outside air. If it was set on max and recirculate the air it did just fine.

Have you searched You tube?

i have searched youtube and google, and tried everything iv read with no change. I just got done replacing the blend door actuator thinking that might be the issue, but that made no difference.

Did you change both blend door actuators?

no, but the other 2 are on the way. i only changed the one that changes it from hot to cold.

Pressure that you posted look good! Does the low side line going into the evaporator feel cold? Dryer feels cold? If the evaporator is cold, then maybe a temp blend door is not working right... Hard to tell without a scanner. You might try taking the battery cable off and touch the other cable with it to discharge and power down everything. Is this a manuel or automatic a/c system?

this is a manual climate system.

the low side line is really cold and sweating. the digital thermometer read 38 degrees at the connection between evapator and compressor. The newer model fords like mine dont have a external dryer so theres no way to check it as its inside the condenser. I Have a heater control valve that i can install on the heater hoses to stop the water flowing to the heater core which i will do that tomorrow at work. my snap on scanner only shows the basic items of the climate system, evap temps, ambeit air temp, and mode door positions, but shows no codes for the system.

I assume you evacuated and pumped down the ac system after each repair to remove the air. The low pressure switch could be faulty and I have seen damaged prongs. The engine fan clutch needs to be working properly to keep high side pressures down during the heat of the day. I have encountered some demons as well and have put the gauges on the outside of the vehicle and set pressures while driving. I hope you get your situation resolved. I hate when you do everything right and still have problems.

this morning at work i hooked the machine up and took out all the freon and did a 4 hour vacuum to make sure there was no moisture in the system, yes i know 4 hours is a really long time but im willing to try anything at this point. After that i refilled again to 1.50 lbs and started it up. the low side was 30-40 going up and down at idle and high side was 190 to 210. now weird part is when the engine was at 2000 rpm the low side dropped to 15 and high side went to 250. compressor never kicked off and never got any colder either. i have electric fans and they came on once the high side got to 300-315 maybe and stayed on from there.

the scanner shows the outside air as 150 degrees but on the dash showed 101, and another weird part was it showed the evap temp at 100 degrees.

Another weird thing is i played around with the scanner and fooled it to think i have a 2012 f150 with a 6.2l and it showed the outside air at 110 which i can believe sitting still in the sun, and the evap core at 44 degrees, which i can believe too since im getting 63 out the vents on high. maybe its my snap on Zeus scanner, maybe not i dont know.

I have a brand new box sitting in the back seat from ford with a new evap core ready to install this weekend.

It's been a long time since I worked on ac so take that into consideration. Much like your radiator if the water rows start clogging up your vehicle will start over heating my guess is that would apply to evaporator as well. On the other hand if the evaporator is detiorating inside it would push the trash into the compressor creating another set of issues. I'm just talking out loud so take with a grain of salt. The one job I didn't figure out was the temperature probe in the evaporator went bad. Hopefully right will come your way soon. Hopefully talking out loud will give you some support.

Something silly and doesn't cost money wash your radiator coils out so the fans can pull more air over the condenser. Well it's possble😬😬

Beaware that the coolest vent temp will be with blower on low speed. recirculate. And it helps to use a spray bottle and spray some water on the condensor.
