Hot Water Slabs
Well the summertime pattern is here on East Texas lakes. Which means we have to work a little harder for them. Alot of fish are there the key is just finding the aggressive fish. One or two here then move. Good thing is you can still catch a nice mess of fish.
Nothing new same song and dance. Brush in 12-20 foot of water. Palestine is averaging 25 to 35 fish per half day trip. The big T Tawakoni is fishing a little better right now. We have been limiting out if not have been very close to it.
Trip #1 was Bob and Mary Ann. This couple maybe be older but is young at heart. This couple proves that wife and husband can be best friends. You can tell they really enjoy lifes adventures together. Bill got Mary Ann a gift certificate for Christmas and they cashed it in on Lake Palestine.
Trip#2 was Steve and his wife Kim. These guys were recommended by another client and drove all the way from the Victoria area to fish Lake Tawakoni. The second time to Crappie fish for these guys and they did great. Once these two figured out the bite, what they were feeling for they were well on their way slinging slabs. Thanks for the drive down enjoy your 30th anniversary and for spending part of it with me.
Trip #3 was Jeff and brother Terry on Lake Tawakoni. These guys are return clients and are always fun to fish with. Just down to earth country boys that love to fish and give each other a hard time. They ended the day with a two man limit of Crappie!!!
Trip #4 was Harry and his three son in laws James, Ryan and Daniel. This trip was a blast, two of the guys have never fished before In their life. Great group of believers and awesome fellowship not to mention all the laughs. With two Crappie being the first fish they have ever caught, and you cant beat that.
Trip# 5 was Dallas and his grandson Tanner. Dallas lives on Palastine and wanted to take his grandson Crappie fishing when he was down for the summer. What better way to Crappie fish then with your grandpa. Its was great seeing these two fish together. Tanner is a great little fisherman and every year he goes to fishing camp for a week and it shows he is no stranger to a fishing pole.
Trip#6 was Chris his son Tyson and Chad on Palestine. Chris dad lives on the lake and was down visiting and wanted to get on some crappie. I can honestly say today was a tough bite. We had more fish push the bait out of the way today than actual bites. But we stuck with it and ended up with a nice mess of fish.
Trip#7 was Bill and his daughter Laura on Palestine. Bill just bought a boat and was wanting to learn how to Crappie fish and learn the lake and how to navigate it. Great seeing father and daughter fish together and making memories.
Trip #8 was Roman and his wife Trace these guys live in the Dallas Area. And wanted to get away from The hustle and bustle of the big city for the weekend. So they rented a cabin down on Lake Palastine. Had a blast sharing the boat with these two. Awesome fellowship and laughs. Great people and Great fishing makes for a blessed day.
Update
For all that havent heard Bonehead Tackle is under new ownership now. For all the people that have been calling. You should be able to get your Baits now. They have been pumping up Baits left and right and a lot of the stores have been fully restocked with Baits. So you guys get out there and get your boats and tackle boxes filled up with bonehead tackle. I guarantee youll love them. The stump bug is a little profile bait and is an awesome summertime bait right now.
I was blessed and fortunate enough to get to stay on their pro staff. Im looking forward to working with them and helping out anyway I can. Guys if you hadnt tried Bonehead Tackle out give them a try. Thats the only plastic we use on my boat.
Thank you all for fishing with me again. You guys make my job a blast every day.
If you have summertime plans and they include crappie fishing I would love to be your guide. Give me a call and I can get you on a mess of Crappie.
