My wife and I are renting a place that backs up to the Brazos near Glen Rose for a long weekend in August. Any suggestions on what to throw? I plan on bringing my 4wt glass for fun, my 6wt for teaching my wife and 8wt if the Bass are biting. I'm used to fishing the Paluxy in the Spring and Fall, but I have never fished the Brazos.

Early of late poppers will work. Also anything that looks like a grasshopper. Especially an Amys Ant. The bass cant leave them alone. Good luck.

Brazos has a ton of carp in the shallows. I use anything like a wholly buger or anything brown crawfish to catch them.
