Taking the guys offers to let you ride with them is a good start. They can give you some pointers to put you in the right direction but I'd definitely hire James Biggs to take you out for a trip. You won't be just along for the ride. He will start teaching you at the boat ramp before you ever launch and then he will tell you how and why you are doing what he is teaching. He is very thorough and you will learn a lot. He isn't that expensive and being able to go right out and apply what he teaches on your next trip and catch fish will make it worth every penny.
