Ate the line yesterday, took off the prop and dropped the pin in the water Is this available locally or will I have to order it? Been looking online and don't see them listed anywhere local, anyone know who/where they might be found?

I bet David at Shut up and fish has them. I always carry a spare.
The other thing is do is when this happens, I make sure the nut and pin are facing up when I take everything apart. You can do this if you dont retract it all the way. That little piece will shut down a trip real quickly if you dont have a spare.
Good luck.

One other thing. It usually happens if Im out fishing in wind I shouldnt be fishing in. The first 17 times it happened, it seemed like 50 yards of line gets caught in there. I have a hair trigger now. If it happens, it bet only 6 inches gets hung up in there. Not sure if this thing is new to you. If it is, you will get quicker on shutting off that anchor feature if it happens.

I have learned a quick response to turn that sucker off as soon as I see the rod double over. First time was NOT pretty. Thought I had a spare in the boat, but apparently not. I know it's somewhere, but can't remember where.

First thing i did was install a kill switch on my boat. If line gets into the trolling motor I quickly step on the kill switch.
As for the pins, just find a nail that will fit in the hole and cut off several pieces the same length as the pin. Works fine as a replacement pin.

Knock on wood, it hasnt happened to me yet. I try to position the boat just a hair upwind of the pile so Im never fishing in front of the trolling motor. Seems like the worst time is when you get a gust of wind and it has to catch up quickly.

The pins run about $2 each and the SKU number for the replacement is 17-MBR10202T if you wish to order some. As tough as the pins seem to be, I'm not sure they would actually ever shear. The next time I need some I think I'm just going to cut some welding rod to length and use that.
