Texoma, they will choke on Oklahoma red dirt before long. At least on the Okie side.

Thanks, Billy

They are in EVERY lake around here. They just haven't been confirmed in every lake.

Just waiting for them to get into Louisiana, then my Cajun friends will figure out how to cook and eat them.

Any home that pulls water out of the lake is inviting these guests into the household plumbing. That is a huge issue for homeowners. Amazing there is very, very little information to deal with that on a residential level.
I would think the spread has a lot more to do with Bass Tournaments than cruisers because the infested lakes are fairly clustered in TX. IMO, they will be in every public lake in time. Bridgeport has had them since 2013 but I never saw them until this year and they are VERY noticeable in the Three Fingers area.

I see them in there and a few other spots but not having to retie every 3-5 casts in there. Until your post I had not thought about the issues with residential plumbing they could cause. That would suck and hope you guys have minimal if any issues at all out there.

I hadn't thought about them getting into the water supply either, but part of a TV report I watched about a week ago said that some were found in lakes that were just 1/10", and that their microscopic larva has also been discovered in lake water. That could easily get through the water supply.

Mark, last fall I reached into the water to replace a nut. It was covered with some junk. I pulled some off and to the surface and mussel shells. When you fish docks is where you will see them, on chains, PVC, floats, etc.
What I have discovered so far is they do not like copper and tend to leave that alone, everything else is fair game. I found 1 mussels inside my filter screen, so they start life at less that 40 microns. Either you filter at that level and end up with endless silt blinding up filters or you can chlorinate the line after the pump at a rate of about 1% mixture. I think Im going with chlorination.
They can live up to 7 days on your trailer (out of the water).
They ARE very sharp as we already had someone cut their feet on the ladder. Up north they have affected beachgoers with little kids cutting feet. On the normally sandy beaches.
Prior to my discovery, I felt no big deal Bridgeport will get clearer which might inspire vegetation despite water level changes. After all Lake Erie went from primarily a murky walleye fishery to a pretty good smallmouth fishery as well with vegetation in 20 of water.
There is a bit of a downside! Ill find a way to live with them through filters and/or chlorination (bleach) and share as I do.

Bridgeport is my lake and you have to re-tie every 3-5 cast or you ARE going to lose whatever is tied on there.

I fish out there a bunch myself but am not having the line issues you are.

You banging 6XD off the bottom? If so, tell me what line you are using. I am open to try something else. I have tried every Seaguar type.

Ain't Mother Nature great. No matter who/what TPWD blames for instilling zebra mussels in our lakes the real truth is that the birds that fly from lake to lake, the floods a few years back are the things that spread the zebra mussels. They were known to be in Texhoma and there are a couple of pipelines connecting North Texas lakes. They were wide open when we had all the rain. What happened when we had the rains? Sure you know, they opened the flood gates and sent the mussels into the Trinity River. So TPWD Mother Nature is in charge not you.

Big Texoma has the gear to bring in big boats from the Great Lakes. It is where it started.... And spread from there. Deal with it. Cat is out of the bag.

And I know who "Jeff" is.
