I have a trip planned to Lake Erie for bass fishing in late July. We will be launching out of Buffalo, NY. I have no idea what to expect or what to carry in the way of baits and equipment. Can anyone give me some pointers on what to use for best results?

In late July they will probably be offshore on reefs. Basic jigs, just like you would for large-mouth. The trick will be finding them. A guide is not a bad idea just to figure them out. If you were a month earlier they'd still be spawning and that game is a lot easier.
