Another vote for Hot Sauce Recently cleaned a reel for a friend, had to soak it repeatedly in solvent to get all the old grease out of everything and then clean it up good with Reel Kleen and a toothbrush , Lube the gears with a little ABU reel grease all the bearings and everything else with Hot Sauce friend said he had to learn how to cast again because the reel was so free, seem like all it took was a flip of the wrest to get same distance he was getting before casting his arm off

I did a lot of research on this earlier in the year. I settled on TSI-321. It has worked reel well. Pun intended. The main issue is clean your reels and use a decent oil. I'm sure there are 10 different ones that work well. I also use tsi 321 it lasts longer than most oils,2nd choice is lucas reel oil,as for wd 40 since the epa forced it to be changed years ago it only does one thing right, the name says what it does (water displacement).

Another vote for Yellow Rocket Fuel. One drop per bearing and no more

I like the hot sauce as well. One drop will do you. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

TSI 301 is what I use on bearings, ZPI medium grease on gears, and Shimano drag grease. I've worked on my own reels and others for a while now. This is the best combination I have found.
