Will be in Washington in late July early august and was wanting to plan some fishing for my 10 year old son and myself. We were originally just looking at taking a guide or two out of Seattle or the Vancouver area but was also entertaining the idea of catching a flight up to anchorage one day and spending a little more on a 2 or 3 day package trip for some salmon/halibut.
Just wondering if anyone has an outfitter or guide to suggest in looking into. Don't need luxury or high end, just want to catch fish, lol Its kind of an overwhelming search when you look online as the options seem endless, so I figured Id ask around for some firsthand experience. And maybe going to Alaska isn't worth the extra expense and we could do just as well out of the BC/Washington area.
Appreciate any advice,

Late July through early August is a good time for silver & pink salmon in Southeast Alaska. One absolute top rate place that I've been to is Whalers Cove lodge near Juneau: https://www.whalerscovelodge.com/new-calendar/ It looks like they could accommodate you and your son in late July. Yes, it's higher price, but you get what you pay for - and you'll REALLY enjoy the experience there. You catch your own fresh bait each day ... there's more whales around than you can imagine ... and there's very little fishing pressure in the area, so you WILL load up your fishboxes. The captains are also very happy to accommodate specific requests, like 'I really want to catch BIG halibut' and they will do their best to put you on your target species for the day (I caught multiple 100+ pound halibut with them last summer). Staying in Juneau a day before & after is time well spent, as it's a cool place to visit.
