Ray Roberts seems to be the most hated lake by a wide margin. Never fished it, but have a tournament there this fall. Curious why people hate that lake??

Ray Roberts seems to be the most hated lake by a wide margin. Never fished it, but have a tournament there this fall. Curious why people hate that lake?? First of all it fishes pretty good in the fall when the water temps come back down. It is a very highly pressured lake which means the fish are really smart and hard to catch. The upper end of the lake looks awesome. You think there is a giant fish next to every ceder tree and bois d arc so you flip and flip until your arm falls off only to figure out that there has to be some other feature in order for the trees to hold fish. Also hard to navigate the top end if you have not been there before, lots of hazards, zebra muscles, a huge sand bass population which compete for the bait fish, a lot of pleasure boaters on the lower end, not very much vegetation(though it is coming back some), fish bite great one day and you think you are on them only to go back the next day and not get a sniff...you get the point. It will keep you on your toes.
See you on the lake and have a great day!

Favorite(s) - Falcon or Toledo Bend Least Favorite - Braunig Braunig... I didn't think anyone else fished for bass there besides me! There are some good fish in there, but they're few and far between. Throw Calaveras in that bag too.
