Not a bass, but caught a big old cat on a chatterbait sitting at the bottom when I was picking out my backlash lol.

My dad caught his PB, an 11.2 pounder on a craw worm after working on a backlash for several minutes. I'd rather be lucky than good... Still waiting on being that lucky.

Usually with a TX rig or shaky head. Get a back lash, pull it out reel up the slack and there's one on there. It's happened enough that I check where the line is now when I reel up and feel before reeling up.

Pretty common problem. Forces us to slow down to fix backlash.

I used to fish Martin Creek back in the 80's and 90's (when there was great grass) with a Boy Howdy and a Devil Horse. Back then I used to smoke and I cast by the hydrilla mat and let it sit while I lit a cigarette. After a full 30 to 45 seconds sitting still a good one came up and killed it. I started letting it sit for 1 minute after that and if I didn't get hit I would barely move it and let it sit again. I can't tell you how many fish I caught that way...and it would scare the s*** out of you every time!

yeah I slowed down after that for about 50 more casts only for one more small fish.
