Is anyone around here interested in maybe doing some urban rapid riding?? If it rains anymore this week, I am going to find a swollen creek and float down it in my yak..

I have a frind that rides the hellstorm on Denton creek in a canoe every time it rains like this.

(I've allways questioned his sanity.)

It can be done just make sure you have your life vest on at all times. Back when I was in high school in Bastrop we would go tubing down the Colorado River when it flooded. I think it was 94 when we had the really bad flood. It would usally take us 5 hours average without a flood. We once make it in 1 1/2 hours. The best time to do it is when you have a major flood. You want to be above all the trees and stuff.

Believe me, I understand the imporance of the life jacket. When clear creek in Sanger used to flood in the late 80's, we would "body surf" down the creek about 5 miles with nothing but life jackets. It was really fun, but sometimes would get a little hairy around big log jams and stuff like that.

Ahh, to be young and stupid again!!!
