...my next lure will be the C-Rig. I normally fish small lakes with a grassy bottom. I was wondering if a C-rig would produce with bait sitting on top of the grass but I have 0 confidence in it. Any tips and advice would definitely be appreciated. Tight lines fellas

My favorite way to fish at Amistad is C-Rig with 1/8 oz weight dragging a mag fluke across the tops of the grasses.
I will throw 1/2 oz along the edges of the grass.
Both have worked well for me.

I throw the lighter weight over grass and catch quite a few fish with it. I normally call it a split shot rig, even though it has a light weight on it. If the grass is real thick, you can go to 1/4 oz, but not much bigger. I have thrown a 3/8 oz C-rig over matted grass and caught a good amount of big fish with it, too. 3/8s lets you cast it further, too.
I wonder how many people are trying to get confidence in a particular setup, vs. CONFIDENCE IN THEMSELVES???????????? I have confidence in MYSELF to figure the fish out and what they are biting on. Took me a couple of years to get it, but once you got it, you never go empty handed!!!!!!!!! GREAT thing to have, CONFIDENCE IN YOURSELF vs. confidence in a presentation. You get confidence in yourself and you never leave home w/o it. GO FIGURE!!!!??????????????? Seems easy to me now, but while I was fishing a lot, I just got the confidence and never leave home w/o it. Good luck. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I'm thinking longer leader (3-4 ft) if there is a grassy bottom.

Bass ii tis, no problems sir. It always confused me when someone said they lacked confidence in a particular presentation, when the confidence comes from your brain and figuring out the fish. Get confidence in yourself and you will never eave home w/o it. You KNOW you are going to catch a fish, REGARDLESS of the situation. Just makes sense to me, dunno. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.
