Used to be ATT Home, then Time Warner Cable, now it is Spectrum cable. I think it depends on where you live and the integrity and quality of the cable and hardware. In Rowlett, the cable was old and connections degraded. I used to have Time Warner Cable but dropouts were awful and their service sucked pondwater. I canned them and went to Verizon FIOS when it was new and FIOS was awesome. Now Verizon sold to Frontier and the service is still good. However, they are now playing games again with cancelling the "Loyal Customer Credit" so in effect my Frontier bill is going to go up $30 a month for the same 75/75 internet and Extreme HD package. Even after I called them and told them I will cancel. This usually works but this year they are adamant about their pricing. If I cancelled I could get Spectrum cheaper but the quality of Spectrum cable in my hood is awful. Old old cable and amplifiers.

I've had Spectrum (Charter) for a while now and I've been very happy with it - and I work from home and have a program that monitors several technical processes so I know immediately if it's down.

I had the 100mb service and like Frenzy I was getting about 115mb.

I kept seeing on various sites that 300mb service was available in my area, but it wasn't listed on the Charter Spectrum website as an available upgrade. If I went in as a new customer and put in my address, it only offered 100mb service. So I called and sure enough the 300mb service was available, but the guy couldn't activate it and it had to be done by an upper level tech. I guess it's available to some addresses, but if it isn't available to all addresses in an area they don't make it available as a self-service upgrade in your account. Strange.

Anyway, I'm now paying for the 300 and I get a little better than that:

NextDoor is filled with spectrum sucks posts. All of the people that left FIOS after the switch to frontier are constantly beeching about spectrum. We had it when it was TWC......one of the sorriest companies and services weve ever had.

They were offering me 300 with TV for $120/month

I'm not seeing anything like that offer online.

I was told the 100 is now 200. But they are not advertising it. I've been getting about 150. But it sure doesn't like my firestick. Keeps saying my wifi isn't working while my laptop is cruising along on wifi. bang

What really pisses me off is in one community you get one program package and in another they don't offer the same channels. I just moved about 10 miles can't get the programs I want.

That should be their advertising slogan: Are you on the Spectrum?

We switched a little while ago from Spectrum to fios, because the spectrum service would get interruptions during high winds or other weather (their cable comes from the utility pole).

Buried fiber optic cable doesn't get such interruptions, and my internet keeps running, along with the streaming TV services in lieu of cable tv.

You can get 400 for another $25. Just not in an old neighborhood.

Tom Rutledge signs my paycheck so I cant complain too much. I will say that the HSD is pretty good and the only complaint I have about the service as a whole is the lack of true HD programming. Most of it is upconverted and is not true HD.
