Just wanted to get peoples opinion on this boat and motor. I've heard some mixed things and just wanted to get more input. This boat is for sale for around 6,500 and looks clean. I don't know much about Cajun boats (keep in mind this will be my fist boat) and I'm trying to find out about that motor. Also, does anyone know if this motor would be carbed or fuel injected?
Thanks!

Cajun boats are pretty stout but you didn't include any info on the outboard bud.
When in doubt SET THE HOOK!

Jeez...I'm sorry guys. Okay, it's the Johnson Venom 200. Again, I've heard good things about this motor and I've heard not so good things. Just trying to get advice before I spend 6,500.00 on a boat. Also, please post about the price letting me know if it's good, average or bad.
Thanks so much everyone!

Give Michael Bristow a call at North Texas Fiberglass in Denton. He will give you an unbiased opinion based on his knowledge of the boat, he used to inspect them for free before you buy but I don't know if he still does. Even for a small fee it is money well spent before you buy used boat. Dennis

Yes, we will always inspect boats as a courtesy. I've since spoken to O'Grady and filled him in on the boat he is looking at. Dadda, thanks for the kind words. For anyone else that doesn't know, we offer courtesy boat inspections at no cost to help make sure you are getting a straight deal!

Yes Mike did inform me on this boat and with his great reputation, he's the only person you really need to talk to about buying a used boat! I just wanted to throw it up there to see some other comments about this boat. I actually have another boat I'm pretty sold on and Mike knows a lot about that boat.
Thanks guys!

Don't know if Michael told you, but you asked about the 200 Venom. I had one on my Cobra and although it always had a slightly long crank time on first cold start, it was a very reliable engine. It is carbureted, has six carbs. I had to have them rebuilt on mine, and the cost was around 600.00, when it was about 6 years old. When warmed up, it was a very fine running motor and would take about a half second to start when operating temp. As with anything, maintaining it properly will pay huge dividends, and it should give you good service.
