Hey guys, I just purchased my first bass boat, though it is in pretty good condition with no oxidation I would still like to buff it a bit to bring out the shine a little more. What do I need to get started?
Thanks

This! Or if you really want to do it yourself order the Pro-tec restoration kit(~$60) or maintenance kit (~$45). Search pro-tech boat restoration on youtube and see for yourself, the product really does work great. I wish I had before pictures of the boat and RV I used it on but I don't. It worked great.

Do it yourself. Just did mine a week ago. Had very light oxidation, but I wanted it showroom new looking.

I wet sanded with 800, 1200, 1500, 3,000 and finally 5,000. Then polished with a 3- stage 3M polishing compound and finally waxed with Meguairs Gold Class. This old 94 Javelin looks better than when it came off the dealership floor.

I don't know if y'all can tell by the pic but does it look like it could get any better. This is what it currently looks like.

I still see swirls...it can get better grin

Seriously though, make sure you go in one direction. I sand the direction of the length of the boat. Not up and down and side to side.

Where is the before pic?

That boat still has a really nice finish. A couple coats of wax and hand buffing will be plenty. You can easily screw up a good finish power buffing.

Bring it, 7 cases of beer, 5 helpers and 3 briskets....

Your boat is just a tad bigger than mine grin
