So i have been chasing crappie like a mad man this year. I am having a hard time getting into multiple fish. I always seem to catch one or two and then it goes quiet. I have been in creeks near ray Hubbard and out on white rock lake. I have also tried the 66 bridge going into rockwall. I am using minnows i am guessing that i need to adjust my depth or get out deeper. i have been in 6 to 15 ft of water. any suggestions would be great!!

The creeks are waste of time right now. They usually get good again in November. That depth range is a bit shallow now that the water has warmed up. I would start looking in 15-25 ft around timber, brush or bridge pillars. Sometimes crappie just get like that. I was fishing a lake last week and saw at least 30-50 fish on each spot I fished but I could only get a few of them to bite then they would quit. I just kept moving around till I found some more active fish and sat on those 2 places and caught my limit.

Main river channel areas, drop offs, etc. deeper timber...just because you can graph fish doesnt mean you can make them bite...keep moving like fishin aholic suggests...I think you would have better luck with Jigs, personally...the minnow bite can be frustrating this time of year, especially during the daytime...Jigs in the daytime, minnows at night is a better formula for me...

If I don't catch a fish in the first 4-5 minutes after getting to a spot, then I am moving to another spot. If the fish are there and are aggressive they will bite in the first few drops in my experience.

I always thought Laner had a good answer to this question...move fast till you hit fish then slow down and fish it good.

Try to locate some brush piles and/or timber. Also, watch for the thermocline on your graph and fish just above it. Right now I'm finding fish buried up in the brush and you have to get your jig in there with them.
To whom much is given, much is required.
