My partner and I went out yesterday knowing though that the 20+ mph wind would be tough. Light lures were hard to cast accurately near the pads from a distance, so I had to flip lures in pockets and near edges. Even though I brought bass size plastics (6" Kut Tail worms, larger grubs and other plastics, I stuck with the prong tail shown below.
One smallmouth, a few largemouth, one pickerel, white perch, sunfish and crappie were caught using the above lure rigged on a 1/24 oz jig. A few days before, yellow perch were also caught using the same grub design. There are fish on beds but I'm not sure which seeing as how many species were in less than 5' raiding nests. Water temp is now 74 degrees.
Goes to show you that when fish are active in the shallows, you don't need a tackle box full of different lures.
