hmmm, Kenmore. I forgot about them. According to google, Kenmore refrigerators are made by Electrolux, Frigidaire, Whirlpool or GE. I need to take a look at them.

From what I was told, a lot of the current fridges are basically the same shell but its the internal parts that make the difference. We chose a French door fridge with water and ice despenser that has the bottom freezer. I cant remeber the model but weve been pleased with the purchase. Our previous fridge was also a Kenmore that lasted us 13 years.

We have one I bought in 1994 that wont die, It has never missed a lick, Wife hates it, I told her go get a new one but I think she is a tight as I am.

Samsung should concentrate on making great TV's, cause their kitchen & cleaning appliance division puts out some real dogs, esp refrigerators and front-load washers and dryers. wife

I have this one. It seems to be okay. The ice maker gets clogged every once in a while if we don't use it. Other than that it's been good. I've heard the Samsungs are terrible but I've only owned their TVs.

Yes, we just got back from kicking ice trays at the Home Depot and Lowes. Looked at a bunch of them so far.

I understand. You pretty much have to take a class in order to research and comprehend everything, and then make the best informed decision. All you really need to know is Kenmore Elite!

Over 10 years old, replaced ice maker once.

I feel your pain. We literally had to move a cabinet and lose the trim on the Wall to fit ours in.

We have had Kenmore for years the first one was damaged by flood water after 9 years replaced it with another Kenmore we sold it with the house never had any problem with either. Bought another for the new house i'm sure it will last for as long as we here and beyond. My family has had Kenmores for ever with little or no problems.

We just went through this and bought a French door counter depth LG. All the sales people said Samsung was junk. We found the lowest price at Costco but was worried about who they would contract with to deliver it. Lowes had the same model but would take about 3 weeks to deliver it. We also found Best Buy had it and they would match Costco's price plus deliver it in 3 days. We felt more comfortable using Best Buy delivery rather than Costco.

As for the French door I really don't like it because now you have to open 2 doors unless you remember which side stuff is on. Even to access the meat drawer thing or larger bowls. I'm just used to one big door after 40 years. But that's what the wife wanted.

Looks like you can get a good deal (30% off) right now and be delivered for around $1,000 out the door.

bought tha 24.5 (size matters) and moved tha still kickin' 17 yr. old whirlpool to tha garage for complete kitchen remodel.... first one they brought was a little noisey.. called lowes no questions asked.. brought another next day.. really like it... 'specially price.
