We bought an old home last October that is rather unique, shall I say. Built in 1940, moved from its original location and it's been added onto a few times. It was completely remodeled 5-6 years ago.
One section of attic is extremely hot and I noticed we have no ventilation to any of the attic area at all. No ridge vent, no soffit vent, nothing except a coupe of turbines on the roof. To compound the issue there is vinyl siding on the house.
Ideas guys?

What is the issue?
Keeping a room cool or cooling that section of the attic?

We would like to cool the attic space down in order to keep the rooms below it cooler and it should help on the electric bills. If you have turbines already, just add some soffit vents.

Looks like you could do a couple gable vents (1 at each end of house) to get some air flow. Nice place.

If you have turbines already, just add some soffit vents. Yes, need a few soffit vents so the turbines can pull thru or circulate air.

You don't mention insulation in the attic. If less that 12" rent a machine to blow insulation in the attic. That will make a considerable difference in your electric bill.

Foam spray between the roof joists. Very little heat penetration.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it !

Figured you would say Burn it or wait for a tornado  No insulation between the joists.

I had reflective paint sprayed in and insulation added. Cooed it down nice. Not sure which made the most difference.
