Hey, Just a heads up for those that fish Grapevine and such. I spoke with the Warden last week at katie woods (really nice guy) and he was saying that he is working with Grapevine PD to get them some "On the water" enforcement training and hopefully convince thier admin to get a boat to work the water more. He was personally working on the parks surrounding the lake in regards to the narcotics and criminal mischief (graffiti and such). He even admitted that Katie woods had kinda turned into the Party park and anyone who puts in there has seen it. He advised that they would be on the water doing BWI and safety inspections more often so make sure you have all your gear: Boat Equipment needed After talking with him i checked my extinguisher and it let out a whimper! oooops 17$ and I was back in compliance Again, just a heads up guys, be safe on the water!
Go home at the end of your shift, no matter the cost!

I wish they would patrol the Flower Mound side in Twin Coves a little more. Everyone has their own definition of No Wake Zone. I fish from a kayak or a Hobie Float Cat in the early morning and late evening. The wake board boats scare me the most with their thumping stereos and cute girls in bikinis, They dont have time to be looking where they are going.

Did you happen to remember the name of the Game Warden? Also, do you know if he happens to be assigned to only Grapevine Lake?

The biggest waves come off those boats the guys surf behind with no rope. Last week while I was fishing, one of these wake / surf boats was doing their thing back and forth and when I seen the waves coming I turned with my trolling motor into the waves. The waves were so big on the second wave my trolling motor and bow basically speared it going underwater through the wave. They were far enough away and not crowding me, but those waves carried along ways. I was in a champion 206 also. Some one in a small boat could have easily been capsized. Be careful when they are in the area

I believe that when taught boater safety in my Wildlife Management classes that the boater safety guide books says you are responsible for your wake. See the Texas Water Safety Act Digest on TPWD. Get the hull number and report them. It's been a while since I taught that so you can look it up. I posted this on the other wake boat post but it applies here also.
