Is there some kind of chart or something that I can look up release dates on Humminbird models? There are so many different Helix 9s as an example, I was wonder when each of them actually hit the market. Specifically I'm look for when this product came to market: HELIX 9 SI GPS 409950-1.
I find the following Helix 9 units on the Humminbird web site: HELIX 9 CHIRP MEGA SI GPS G2N | HELIX 9 Series | 410090-1 at $1299.99 HELIX 9 CHIRP MEGA DI GPS G2N | HELIX 9 Series | 410500-1 at $999.99 HELIX 9 SI GPS | HELIX 9 Series | 409950-1 at $999.99 HELIX 9 SI GPS KVD | HELIX 9 Series | 409950-1KVD at $999.99 HELIX 9 CHIRP DI GPS G2N | HELIX 9 Series | 410080-1 at $899.99 HELIX 9 CHIRP GPS G2N | HELIX 9 Series | 410070-1 at $799.99 HELIX 9 DI GPS | HELIX 9 Series | 409930-1 at $799.99 HELIX 9 SONAR GPS | HELIX 9 Series | 409920-1 at $699.99
I know the Mega is the newest but noticed that the HELIX 9 SI GPS 409950-1 doesn't say G2 or G2N. Looking at saving a couple of bucks over the Mega while still getting the 800 Khz HD transducer options (when you buy the optional transducer), 9" screen with TWO SD card slots, some preset buttons and something that will connect with an I-pilot later.
Just a thought since I haven't opened my Helix 7 Si G2 yet.
Anyone know of any links to compare Humminbird units side by side? I wish that I could pull up two or three different units and see what the differences are between the units without flipping back and forth and making notes.
Thanks for all of the help in advance.
The helix 9 si gps you are referring to is the Gen 1 Helix. each new release is usually in production for about 2 years then a newer model is released. ars before the release of the solixnot aware of any side by side comparison websites for the units. The units that are on the web site are the current and newest models. here is a link of all the discontinued models which hummingbird labels them as Legacy. All these units in the link are legacy and no longer in production https://www.humminbird.com/Freshwater/Product-Category/Legacy/All-Legacy/?ps=all

I have one on mine now, but it only shows the compact listed. Every SI model that has the standard Compact SI transducer, like the 398 does, will produce sharper images using the HDSI transducer. That is because the HDSI is 2" longer and has longer Imaging crystals. In no case does it add 800 kHz to any unit that does not have it. The 398 does not so it does not have any other SI setting but Compact Sidescan.

does the MK US2 internal transducer support the function of DI on a Hummingbird unit ? No trolling motor internal transducer (MotorGuide or Minnkota) does any imaging of any kind for any sonar brand. They are 83/200 kHz 2D transducers ONLY.

I'm having an issue where my maps are not following my boat while driving. (does in using navionics as well as lakemaster) I constantly have to hit the boat icon to bring my boat to the center of the screen. This is on a Solix 12 SI unit. I have it set to head up, but still not working. I'm at a loss, any ideas?

I'll have to make sure to try that. My unit seems to go really slow sometimes... I constantly hit that x button to make sure I'm not selected on something but I'll double check the next time I'm out. Any other thoughts on what could cause my unit to run slow? The last time my voltage meter got down to about 11.4-11.5 at times as well. Brand new battery so I don't know why it got so low other than it was near the end of the day running two units.

Insuffucient power will cause GPS issues also. What gauge wire and where is it connected to. Solix units are real power sensitive. For best performance I would run 10 gauge wire directly to the battery with a fuse or a dedicated fuse panel powered by nothing smaller than 8 gauge wire. Do not wire to existing boat fuse panel or wiring harness. They are not usually wired with big enough wire to power sensitive electronics properly

Howdy, I replaced my Fortrex with a Ultrex and now the bottom image on my 1198c SI on the console has intermittent bottom image. I can turn the unit off and back on and the image returns but will go away again. I have another 1198c SI on the bow that is linked to the console unit. The bow unit is also connected to the transducer that is built into the trolling motor( the same way as the Fortrex). Can changing my trolling motor have anything to do with the problem?
