Which one should I go with and why? Not sure which one to go with for my HDS 12. What am I getting extra with the Hotmaps Platinum?

Others will chime in with more info but personally for me the "layers" available on the Platinum card like 3-D, aerials... are NEVER used by me. So (for me) a lesser priced card would have done EVERYTHING my Platinum card does.

Really your two main options are the Hotmaps Platinum card($199) or the Nav+ Regions card ($149). Both of these cards have the same Nautical data, the Sonar Chart layer etc, but the main couple of differences between the two are the Platinum has an Aerial overlay option (makes the land look like a google earth image) and a 3D option. Like stated above, those 2 main options do not concern some fisherman and if that is the case with you, I would highly recommend saving the $50 and going with the Nav+ regions card.
