What fly line would you good folks recommend for bass on a 7� 5wt fiberglass rod? Floating, sinking tip, full sinking? Fish mostly from the bank or in 5-10 ft of water in my kayak.

I would assume floating or sinking tip would be ok for this but just want to get some input.
Also, what is the deepest water you could reasonably fish for bass on the fly?

Floating line will give you the most flexibility. For those times when you need to get down deep add weight to the flies. If that's not enough you can always add a sinking tip and get as deep as you need.

I like fishing floating line much more than sink tips. I�ve never had a full sink line. With a relatively long fluorocarbon leader and tippet and a tungsten weighted fly, one can fish pretty deep.

The lake I live on is about 11 feet deep at the deepest. Floating line covers it pretty well. Most of the fish are 7 or 8 feet deep or less. I�m also able to cover the inshore saltwater areas I fish with floating line and various weighted fly patterns.

If I had to fish deeper than 8 or 10 feet and the fish are deep, I�d probably select a sink tip.
