 Humminbird 698ci hd si screen will not come on

The screen started taking one minute to come on and would only turn light gray in color. Then it went to 3 minutes, then 6, 10, 20, 80, 120 minutes. Yes, the screen will turn light gray in color, but will not show graphs. It is out of warranty and only has 66 hours on it. The last time it stayed gray all morning. Is there a simple fix?? Where can I send it and not get a $250.00 bill?

The 698 is an old unit and honestly, quite outdated technology wise.
I would tell you to save you $250 and put it toward a new Helix of your choice.

Ok,, thats why I hesitated in sending it in. That 250.00 is a chunk forward to me getting a new one. Maybe I will find a used but newer one here someday. Tommy...from whitney.
