Anyone had to report recently? Got a bad feeling about the issues I ran into today, thinking I may be looking at a new motor on Monday. Currently run a Yamaha 225 if someone can tell what I am in for worst case scenario.

Youre in for a wait, you cant buy any motors right now to due to a shortage because of new models being introduced. But a 225 SHO would have cost you about $17k

Haven't heard of any shortages of the new Evinrude G2's in that size, I HAVE heard nothing but great things about the way they run, they are different looking though!

Not a yamaha but i just priced the new Proxs 200 fourstroke, 20k. From a local shop too. You can do better than that. I called Jacos Friday and they said 14,100 for the 225 3.4 V6 four stroke. I think you could have it rigged out with Mercury controls and out the door for 16 to 16,500. Problem right now is everyone is waiting on them to ship. The only 2 strokes they had were 3 175 Pro XS's that were the last ones Mercury had in their warehouse. They had gotten a couple of new V6's in but they were already sold.

Jacos is the only place to go for new Merc purchases.

Ive been kicking around the same idea lately. My motor is doing good but its a 2004 Mercury 150 but not fuel injected. I think instead of buying a newer boat in a few years I may just completely restore mine, carpet, seats, trolling motor, graphs maybe and a fuel injected mercury. It may cost $15-20k total but maybe less and would be better than $50k or whatever my budget might be at the time. .
