We'll be camping at Lake Granger(Fox park) this weekend. Was told bass fishing was not too good but crappie was. I have never fished for crappie. Can anyone give me some pointers on set up and the like...thanks in advance.

Welcome aboard SDB.
I've never fished Granger, but for crappie fishing in general you'll want to go with light tackle, about six-pound test line and small jigs and plastics or minnows (I don't fish with live bait, so I'm no help there either).
I could only guess about the fishing at Granger right now, but I'd guess they are about to get up shallow. I'd look shallow with a little cover that has deeper water nearby.

Welcome to the TFF family, Keep on reading, you will learn a lot from all the GURU's in here. I can share some of what I've learned from these GURU(s)
You may want to start out with live bait 18" under cork since you have never jigged for crappie before. The key is don't ever think that they can NOT be in such shallow area this time of yr. If there are covers or structures, dip a minnow. Light tackles meaning ultralight rod, light line (6lbs or so), small cork w/ #2 hook w/ a split shot to hold down your minnow. Rig in such that your cork isn't too big or too small for the bait/hook/spit shot below.
As for jigging, you can also rig w/a 1/16 oz jig the same way without the split shot. Dip a jig in the same area - shake/hop/twist (slowly).
It's that simple and with a little patient and search, you will be surprise how much it can get.
WARNING: CRAPPIE fishing is extremely addictive. Fish at your own risk...
Good Luck!

Find a creek, get in the back of it, fish the thickest brush possible that comes right out of deeper water.

You can also fish roadrunners around stickups while floating bait under a bobber. Slightly off topic, What are all you guys doing online when it is near perfect outside right now. GO FISHING.....I'm home with a sick kid wishing I was out right now. If you go, catch one for me.
