I was thinking about fishing Lake Somerville next weekend. I’ve never been there before. Targeting whites and hybrids but mainly whites. Any particular spots y’all would try or just check points and humps? Will white slabs work or should I try something else? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Find a windblown bank at daybreak, and follow them out from there. And I do mean daybreak. They are very active feeding on shad and the shad are on the bank first thing in the morning. By 7:30 they (the shad) are moving to deeper water and the whites are following them, so you should be following too. You will see them busting the surface. If you find them on the bank, its a lot easier to keep up with them. Keep an eye out for the birds working. They'll lead you right to them. Sexy Shad Rattletrap works great for me. Good luck
