My wife is from Many LA. Every time we go over there we go to Nichols which is like if Hobby Lobby and a Mom and Pop outdoor store had a baby. I always pick up an H & H or two to fish the family pond with. They still work!!
See you on the lake and have a great day!

Isn't it crazy how with all of the spinnerbait lures out there, the H and H still produces?

i used them a lot with my Dad on our twice a year trips to Caddo. Worked great in all the weeds and lily pads; and really caught fish.
my Dad forgot to put the hook on one of his; couldn't understand why he kept missing those bass!!!

I've been using them since the '50s, and still do. Now, though, I "customize" them with a ball bearing swivel, willow leaf blades, and then solder the spinner wire so I don't lose lure parts. I still catch a ton of bass on these little critters - usually yellow/black or chartreuse/blue when it's sunny and purple when it's overcast. I fish 'em in the shallows with a fast retrieve, leaving a wake but not letting the blade break through the surface. It's a killer technique during the post-spawn.

Make sure you get the hook on the right way... LOL
When I lived in Louisiana years ago I took a friend fishing. He didn't fish very much. I was catching them good on a H&H. I gave him one to use. He kept getting bites but would lose them. I looked at his H&H and he hadn't put the hook on it. We had a big laugh over that.

my brother and I used to buy them at Gibson's with our allowance; we usually went with white, Good lord, you said Gibsons, we had one in Euless in the late 60's early 70's right down the street from our house on Harwood... We called it Gipsons back then we didn't know how good we had it. The last one I remember seeing was in Hurst off Pipeline Rd..1979-1980 maybe.. I used to get my Royal Bonyl mono and Jelly Worms at that store. good old gibsons, used to ride my bike from over by harwood junior high when harwwod rd was a cow trail to get those and bb's. but then again we we got our milk from Fitch's dairy. those days are long gone, but the H and H aren't

I fished them a little bit in our farm pond and caught a few bass, too, but the favorite was the Beetle Spin. They could not let that lure alone. Thanks for the memories. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

We grew up throwing them in stock tanks just like everyone else. I believe the biggest crappie I've caught came on a red and white H&H

I used them on Cross Lake in Shreveport in the early 60s, I had some a few years back in Waco. Fished Cross Lake a couple of weeks ago. Beautiful lake with great places that looked like they held bass but didn't get a single hit. Only thing we came back with were sore arms and a black/yellow frog someone had lost in the brush.

The models y'all are showing are what I'd call the "second generation" of H&H spinnerbaits. H&H was the first spinnerbait I ever used, in about 1975. We bought them at Walker's Sporting Goods on Jefferson in Grand Prairie back then for $1.19 each. They had a SINGLE, fixed hook. Not the clip on, double hook pictured in some of these photos. When they went to that hook I stopped buying them but I still have a couple from the old days......... I caught several nice fish yesterday on a Strike King 1/8 oz. spinnerbait. Very similar to the old H&H model...
