My Humminbird 859 starts up like normal. The 2 loading screens are normal but seconds after I hit Exit to open up my Nav screen, it shuts down. Not just turns off, it shuts down like I was pushing the Power button. I've tried updating the software, taking out my SD card and checking all my connections. Any ideas?

Do you have another unit you can switch locations with? Have you added any new waypoints?

This is a bow unit, I have an 1198c by the console so the plumbing is different. The 2 are connected by ethernet, combined with my Minn Kota Terrova. This was the 1st time I've been out in months but it was all working on my last outing. I know I've deleted a few waypoints but not sure if I've added any.

OK. Just connect the 859 to the 1198 power cable so you can for eliminate a power issue

You can connect the transducer also for the test. You did not state which one of the two version of 859 (Sonar or DI).
The Temp and 2D crystal connection will match and the DI circuit will be connected to the right side SI crystal.

Good idea, I will connect to my 1198 power source and start eliminating issues. Wayne, it's the sonar version using the internal transducer in my Terrova.

Good idea, I will connect to my 1198 power source and start eliminating issues. Wayne, it's the sonar version using the internal transducer in my Terrova. The 2D crystal in the HDSI transducer is the same as the US2 (83/200 kHz). The transducer plug is the same size, so it will fit.
