If it's fiberglass, it's going to be heavy. I would go with a 24V/80lb. JMO

I'd put a 24v on one that heavy. 55 would do it but battery life would be rough and I wouldn't want to be out in rough water relying on it to keep up.

I think it depends on when, where, how and what species you fish for. I have a 17'6 glas with a 55#, 12v that replaced a 45#,12v and it works very well. Having said that I don't fish on windy days or deep water and bass only. I didn't have room for 2 batteries without some modifications or I would have 24V. I carry a spare battery but never used it fishing 5-8 hours at a time.
