Go to urologist and let him/her figure out what kind of stone it is. OTC meds may cause stones to form. My uro guy wants to know about all meds--otc and prescriptions.

Try sitting in a tub of hot water. The heat will open the tubes a bit and the stone can pass easier (unless it's a big one).

Passed about 20 of em. The last one got stuck, had to use the old fire hose method, build up pressure and shoot it out.
A few shots of Vodka, a Vicodin and a gallon of water usually get the job done.
The hot tub of water does temporarily help as well, but be careful because the hot water will dehydrate you.

I had them twice in my younger years. No fun. I also developed gout around that time and have taken allapurinol ever since and have never had another one or gout either for 40 years. My doc says gout and stones go together. The analysis of my stones never revealed what the cause was. After bragging about this, I'll probably halve another one tomorrow.

similar to labor pain, according to the females that I have imaged with stones. I have heard lemon water helps dissolve stones and break them up. but I think that is something that takes times, like a daily routine. most the time, a shot of pain killer, lots of fluids, and patients are discharged home to pass the stone with a strained to peeee through.

I'm 30, had my first 2 years. Also found out I had gout just before my first kidney stone. I haven't been taking my gout medicine regularly though.

I have never heard any women say they would like to have another stone ! That tells me it is worse than birth . Went thru 2 rounds of trying to bust up a big un ,finally 5 hours on the table and 248 trips in and out they thought they had all the pieces? I strained out pieces for the next week. The real fun came when they went to pull the stint out while I was awake this time . You have my full sympathy !!!!!

They turn the stones to sand using a lazer on the end of the scope.
