i just bought a 2004 triton tr186 has less than 20 hrs on the motor and its has starting making a chirping sound while it is running it is coming from the beeper relay (i guess thats what it is called) anyhow it is the deal that beeps when you first turn the key on. it seems to stop when i start trimming up or down i guess when im drawing a little juice. just checking to see if any one else has encountered this annoying sound.

That sound is coming from the warning system. Something my not be right. On my Tracker/Evenrude the beeping means low or no oil a continous beep is a over heat warning I would not run this motor until it is checked out. If its low oil you will crater a motor very expensive. it could be something simple but check it out before running again.

could be a number of things!!! I know mine has done it and it was my water pump and i was making the beeper go off watch your water pressure gauge on your boat when you are on the lake and if you dont have one i strongly advise you to get one!!!

got it back from the boat repair and they said my cranking battiery connection was loose. thats was making the beeper go off. Then they told me that the water pump was not pumping enough water said the heads were getting warm and it was not peeing enough water out the back. So i told him go ahead and change out the impeller well $210 later the pressure came up a little and its still peeing water out the back about as good as it was before i think i have been had. i asked them to let me see the old impeller and they said it was already trashed how convienent. oh well lesson learned.

Don't know if loose connection will cause waring horn to activate I guess anything is possible. Also not knowing what the old impellers shape was ?? However if its been a while 2 or more years? not a bad idea to change the impeller They can take a set and not pump water good, as the impeller vanes will collaspe or break apart. He said the heat was a little high probberly high enough to set the waring horn off. hope this corrects all your problems and a healthy fishing season ahead.
