Have some bobber stoppers but don't know the brand for sure, I think VMC. Bought the size for 15-20 pound line, which is the size I use. Problem is, they slide up or down the line on most casts. Will the next smaller size stop the sliding? For tx rig, I normally use a 1/4 - 3/8 oz tungsten sinker on 17 lb Mason Bass On Line, which is a little thinner than most 17lb line. Another brand that's better for not sliding or need to use 2 stoppers to stop sliding?
Thanks, Befuddled...again.

Thanks, Befuddled...again. I like the academy brand and use 20# sunline sniper. They hold but what I have problem with them is about 1 out of 3 the wire break before getting the stopper on the line and have tried wetting it first and still have problems. Might be ok with your 17#

I've used several kinds and given up on all of them. I've gone back to toothpicks and I'm glad I did.

I tie a piece of rubber band on the line and trim the tag ends off. Cheap, doesn't slip, but easy to slide on the line, and easy to find.

I buy the cheap 30 pack at bass pro and they work fine. If the braid is really slick or using heavier weights I will use 2 of the stoppers.

I have always used the cheapest ones on TW and though breaking wires putting them on was just part of it. Last year I picked up a package of 6th sense because that's what they had at the local tackle shop and it is a world of difference. I won't be using any others from now on.

...I use a very small "clam" weight. Just crimp it on the line and there you go. Much less $$$$ than bobber stoppers or peg its

Swagger tackle sends me some when I order weights. Don't know the brand but they work better then what I was getting from academy and they ate big enough that they aren't getting stuck inside the weight either. But I have to agree with steez, if you are putting it above the weight you should just peg it, it easier and doesn't require retying.
