I have never implied this.

Lol James is your typical guy who acts like he has done it before. It may be 50-60 it may be a hundred.... He doesn't care. I have been with him one time in June and we had I think 5 over 8 pounds in one day on a guide trip. I had two last week fun fishing. I just don't see the point in sending in an 8 pound fish. I enjoy the heck out of catching them but its just not that big of a deal for most people on here to turn them in and get that participation trophy.

8lbs is a great fish by all accounts but I am of the opinion that TPWD should make the new program's lower threshold 10lbs. I believe 10lbs is much more of an accomplishment than 8. Also, I think they should call the 10-13 lb'ers something different, like "Junior Sharelunker" or something more creative. Leave the "Sharelunker" name to the 13+ so it doesn't lose its luster.

PBs

LMB- 11 lbs., 7 oz. Falcon

Striper- 40 lb. Long Is. Sound
BlueCat- 30 lb. Texoma
Hybrid-8.2 lb. Lewisville
Cutthroat Trout-22" Yellowstone R, WY
Rainbow Trout- 21" Blitzen R, OR
Steelhead- 8 lb. Umpqua R, OR
Redfish-20 lb. Panama C. Bay, FL

This is about exactly how I feel on this. Sharelunker, while being a hotly debated program in Texas and on the TFF, is a word that is synonymous with a true GIANT fish. I have no problem with TPWD wanting these other catches submitted because its the data they are after. That data of fish caught that are 8+ is what in my opinion proves the SAL program works and has been a huge plus for our lakes.

For Chase - his antics are annoying, but the guy knows how to catch fish and he's just doing what he can to pump up his guide/youtube business.

And lastly, I'm with Agseller...create 2 classes only - 10-12.99# then 13# and over. Or if they want to keep including the 8# fish just call them Spare Lunkers.....sorry!! hahahahaha

I believe it. He's on the water every day out there. Im out there a lot but no where near as much as him, and I have several over 8 this year so far well. So 50 is very believable to me!

I've fished Fork exactly 1 day this year and have a fish over 8 (actually 9) pounds.

Chase-
Here's what I'd say to you. You catch some great fish on your videos man. Way more than most of the other jokes producing videos. Claim them as "Big fish" or "Nice fish." Leave that Sharelunker title as a goal. I can tell you for one, 13 is a hard one to break. And its an accomplishment like none other. I'd trade most of my tournament accomplishments just to have my name in that ol book of 13+ lbs. fish.

The good news for Chase and anyone else doing the Sharelunker contest is that it appears that most Texas anglers either don't know, don't care, or are too cool to enter their fish. So inherently, his chances of winning are much higher.

There's free stuff for every fish entered and a $5k grand prize at stake...most of us do more for a lot less in the fishing world. I don't understand why people care about him entering fish into a legit contest.

True story....lake Austin wed nighter this week first place had a 10 and a 12 and I don't think he turned them in. I bet less than 5% that get caught are being turned in statewide
